Harry Maguire slammed for his latest error against Bournemouth

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has been slammed by Rafael van Der Vaart after his error against Bournemouth at the weekend.

Maguire was turned inside out by Junior Stanislas for the opening goal but his team-mates spared his blushes with five goals in a convincing win.

Despite their 5-2 victory, the spotlight shone on Maguire, who became the world’s most expensive defender in his move from Leicester last summer.

And former Spurs star Van der Vaart was scathing in his criticism on Dutch TV, claiming that Maguire “tells his wife” that United “really believe he’s good” and adding that he believes he “laughs at everyone”.

Asked about Maguire’s error during a show on Dutch TV station Ziggo, Van Der Vaart blasted: “I think Maguire goes home every day and tells his wife: ‘I screw up, but I earn so much. They really believe I’m good.’

“I really think so, he laughs at everyone.”

It is not the first time the midfielder has slammed Maguire.
