Man builds toilet that generates BioGas for electricity and cooking in his home
Creativity simply means once ability to think outside the box in a creative manner in other to attain new heights or set goals. When most people see a problem surface, others see a great opportunity.
Some people are born gifted with just the ability to think creatively and the required strength to bring their dreams to life and this young man happens to be one of them.
Before we get to see photos of this young man from Imo state, let us briefly take a look at what Biogas really is.
Biogas is the mixture of gases produced by the breakdown of organic matter or waste products in the absence of oxygen (anaerobically), primarily consisting of methane and carbon dioxide.
Biogas can be produced from raw materials such as agricultural waste, manure, municipal waste, plant material, sewage, green waste or food waste.
Biogas is a renewable energy source and in countries like India, it is also known as “Gobar Gas”.
Biogas is produced by anaerobic digestion with methanogen or anaerobic organisms, which digest material inside a closed system, or fermentation of biodegradable materials.
Biogas is primarily methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) although it may have small amounts of hydrogen sulfide (H2S), moisture and siloxanes.
The gases methane, hydrogen, and carbon monoxide (CO) can be burned or oxidized with oxygen thereby releasing energy that allows biogas to be used as a fuel; it can be used for any heating purpose, such as cooking. It can also be used in a gas engine to convert the energy in the gas into electricity and heat.
According to a post made on Facebook, a young man in Imo State has successfully built a toilet for tapping biogas.
Despite the current rate of unemployment and joblessness in our society, this young made took it upon himself to be creative and Innovative.
If only our youths would take after this example and try something creative and productive this Country would be great.
The name of this young man is currently unknown at the moment, but hopefully the government may sponsor and take care of him so he will do more.
